Welcome to ASCO GI 2022

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has a long-standing tradition of starting the new year with an overview of cutting-edge data in the field of gastrointestinal (GI) cancer. The continuing global COVID-19 pandemic forced the organisators to change the 2022 edition to a hybrid format, with the possibility to attend the various sessions both virtually and on-site. Nevertheless, through an engaging lineup of novel science, education, and exhibits, the 2022 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium featured a broad range of innovative findings in GI cancer treatment, research, and care. From cancer disparities to the impact of COVID-19 on the care for GI cancer patients, the meeting aimed at providing a better understanding of the practice-changing research propelling the field of GI cancers forward.
